The Waite Park Police Department is fully staffed with 13 trained and sworn officers as well as other personnel that will respond to your emergency needs. The department headquarters is located at 19 13th Avenue North in Waite Park and it is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. David Bentrud is the current Chief of Police. The police department offers programs and resources to help teach citizens how to secure their home and be safer when they are on the streets. The Globe University and Minnesota School of Business is a private university located in Waite Park. It offers courses and programs designed for careers in business, law, information technology and media. The school is accredited by the ACICS and it was founded more than 100 years ago in 1877 with several campuses across the country. There are several parks located throughout Wait Park and they are each unique in their own way. Lions Park, for example, is a 4.5 acre community park that sits next to Country Road 137 and Angus Acres. It is handicap accessible and has many features available like play areas and more. The Community Park is over seven acres with a playground for the kids, BBQ grills and a pavilion. River's Edge Park is over 42 acres of land that was donated by the Burlington Northern Railroad Company in 1972. It is located between 10th Avenue North and 3rd Street North. Other parks include Jagiello Park, Quarry Park and Nature Reserve and others.
